This darling Fabrege red and gold egg pendant actually opens and a gold tone angel on a chain drops down...Surprise!! The angel's wings are white, she/he appears to be holding a lantern with a tiny rhinestone accent to represent the lantern's light. It measures 3/4" in length, not including the loop, and comes in mint condition. These Faberge eggs were created in sterling silver and then gilded in 24 karat gold. They were then enameled with several layers of multicolored enamel. This technique of enameling is an extremely delicate and highly labor-intensive one involving hand application of translucent colored enamel and then firing it at very high temperatures. Each egg was enameled by hand with up to seven layers of enamel. An updated note: This is the last pendant available. I will never have the opportunity to acquire any more, since the company is no longer in business. They are the best quality at the best prices compared to similar eggs from other companies.
