The brooch presented here is signed JEANNE with a "C". Little is know of the company that began producing jewelry in 1919 until perhaps 1970. Faux ruby, diamond, sapphire and pearl stones were used, often set in an antique hammered gold metal. The quality is excellent and pieces are difficult to find. This beauty is fashioned in a leaf design using faux pave diamonds which are set in an antique, lightly hammered gold tone setting. The clasp in the back runs from top to bottom so it may be worn as a brooch or as a pendant. It's actually quite elegant. Measuring 2 1/4" in length, a little over 1 1/4" wide at its widest point, it comes in excellent to mint condition.
