This is a beautiful Faberge egg created in sterling silver and then gilded in 24 karat gold. It is then enameled with several layers of multicolored enamel.This technique of enameling is an extremely delicate and highly labor- intensive one involving hand application of translucent colored enamel and then firing it at very high temperatures. Each egg is enameled by hand with up to seven layers of enamel. This exquisite egg pendant is fashioned in rich cobalt blue and emerald green translucent enamel and has a floral bale through which a chain is inserted. A wonderful flowing leaf, gold tone design, filled with clear crystals, and a wrap-around swirl, also full of beautiful crystals are set on the gorgeous blue and green enamel. At the left top and right bottom sides sit a round coblat blue and dark green insert. The flower bale is a cobalt blue with a crystal insert. The egg falls on an angle from this bale so the stunning side stones are visible. It measures about an inch or a tiny bit more in length. Positively MAGNIFICENT!!
